Roger Cormier, 19, formerly of Memramcook East, was killed near here early Friday morning (4 mars) when the car he was driving failed to negotiate a curve. A passenger in the fatal vehicle was admitted to hospital following the crash. The victim was pronounced dead on arrival at hospital following the 2 a.m. mishap. No other information was available Friday night on the mishap.

Born in Memramcook East, he was a son of Aimé and Annie (Dupuis) Cormier and had travelled to British Columbia only four months ago. He was a bricklayer by trade.

Besides his parents, residing in Memramcook East, he is survived by a sister, Mrs. Vernon LeBlanc (Pauline) of Memramcook East, and six brothers, Willie of Pré-d'en-Haut, Emery of Moncton, Jean, Oscar and George, all of Memramcook East, and Thomas Cormier of British Columbia.

The body is to arrive Sunday to rest Sunday night at Dupuis' funeral home, Memramcook. Mass will be celebrated at the Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Memramcook East, at a time and day to be announced. Interment will be held in the parish cemetery in the spring.
